our shared agreements
At the Asian Psychedelic Collective, we’re building spaces rooted in care, connection and co-liberation. This page outlines the values, agreements, and practices that help us do that together.
APC prioritizes creating a welcoming, inclusive, and empathetic environment for our gatherings. Community members are invited to listen generously, assume benevolent intent, and take accountability in experiences of harm.
We ask that attendees arrive to our events on time so everyone can participate in group grounding, introductions, and confirmation of shared agreements.
For more intimate gatherings, such as integration circles, entry may be closed to latecomers.
Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected here. If someone’s behavior compromises that, we may ask them to leave — not out of punishment, but to preserve the integrity of this space.
For safety and transparency, we request that attendees join virtual gathering from private locations, remain visible on-screen during introductions, and refrain from taking screenshots or recording without consent.
The following acknowledgement and agreements are expressions of the belonging our collective is committed to building. They may evolve as we learn, grow, and change.
The Asian Psychedelic Collective acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land and waters, and those who surround and steward psychedelics and expanded states of consciousness.
We pay tribute to them, and to generations of ancestors - past and present - who have brought us into existence.
We honor our essential connection to the world around us, and give gratitude to the families of plants, animals, and fungi that are also an inextricable part of our being.
As we gather, we commit to honoring and supporting our community, co-creating safer spaces, and forging solidarity with other marginalized peoples.
Our community is not a monolith. We strive to be conscious of how our diverse backgrounds, unique histories, and intersecting identities inform our perspectives, and agree to avoid making assumptions.
When sharing, we will speak from our own experience rather than generalizing, and will be mindful of how we take - and make - space.
We encourage kindness and compassion towards ourselves and each other, and will refrain from giving advice unless requested.
We honor confidentiality, and will not share details about others’ experiences or practices without permission.
We recognize our collective fates are intertwined, and healing and liberation are the gift and responsibility of us all. As we gather in community, we affirm and support all minoritized and marginalized people.
APC is grateful for the invaluable work of Kulkiran Nakai, Ellen Wong’s MOONDOSE, The Ancestor Project, Psychedelic Liberation Collective, adrienne maree browne’s “Emergent Strategies” toolkit, Kai Cheng Thom, Hakomi principles, and the Anti-Oppressive Facilitation for Democratic Process.
